I came to the area in 2012 to work with a youth center in Fort Defiance, AZ, after graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies from Trinity International University. After five years of working with local youth and their families creating after school and summer programs, I was led into the mental health field. I graduated with my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling in 2018 from Capella University, and had the opportunity to join Rehoboth in 2020 as the Elementary/Middle School Counselor. My heart and my home belong to this area, I met my wife and started my family here, and my passion for mental health was cultivated here. To really dig in and work on empowering my community is very special to me.
Joining such a passionate group of professionals at Rehoboth and serving in such a wonderfully unique area has been amazing. Even with the difficulties of Covid protocols, when I started at Rehoboth, it has been abundantly clear that Rehoboth was going to allow me the flexibility to find the best ways to serve students. I have been trusted with my skill set and empowered by the administration to educate and build special relationships with students and their families during my time here. It is quite fun to have such a unique role focusing on the strengths and abilities of our students while giving them a comfortable, judgment free environment to work on their social and emotional health.
