I was raised here in Rehoboth, New Mexico and am an alumni of Rehoboth, graduating in 2003. I went on to graduate from Colorado Christian University with a bachelors in Psychology. My husband and I taught in Vietnam together for 3 years after graduating from University and that is where our first 2 children were born. We came back to Gallup to live and teach from 2010-2016. During this time I was able to stay home with our 3 kids and my husband taught at Rehoboth as a High School history teacher. After six great years of being back in New Mexico, we got the itch to travel again and were blessed with the opportunity to move to Prague, Czech Republic and teach in an international school there. I taught in their special education program during our four years there. I found a passion in working with students in small groups or one-on-one and love helping students grow and succeed even when things feel difficult. This prompted me to take the necessary steps to become certified as an elementary teacher. During my last year in Prague, I was able to take the necessary steps to become a licensed teacher.
After finishing this certification we felt the call to come back home to New Mexico and in 2020 we returned. I am now teaching Title 1 Reading to kindergarten through 5th grade and I love it!! It is wonderful to work with small groups and get to know students so well. It has been a privilege and joy to be back at Rehoboth and we are so thrilled that our kids are able to attend here as well.
