Elementary School (K-5)

Elementary School (K-5)

Community and Faith

The Rehoboth Christian Elementary School creed begins with a simple yet meaningful declaration: “We go to Rehoboth, a Christian school.” It reminds each child that they are created in God’s image and deeply loved by Him. The creed concludes with the words of Isaiah 61:3: “We will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor.”

It is our prayer that every student grows in faith and character—learning to reflect God’s image more clearly and to stand strong, displaying His splendor in their daily lives.

Community is at the heart of Rehoboth Christian Elementary School. As students grow together, sharing both joys and challenges, they become part of a caring and supportive family. We celebrate cultural diversity and remain deeply committed to honoring the Native American communities at the foundation of our mission. Through learning language, traditions, and cultural values, we strive to foster understanding, respect, and connection among all people.

Our dedicated staff love Jesus and are passionate about sharing His hope with every child who walks through our doors. We guide students with love and Biblical principles, emphasizing forgiveness, reconciliation, and the restoration of relationships. Through this Christ-centered approach, we aim to nurture not only academic growth, but hearts grounded in faith and compassion.

Curriculum

At Rehoboth Christian Elementary School, our curriculum is designed to meet New Mexico standards while helping students grow academically, socially, and spiritually. The elementary school uses a variety of trusted, quality curriculum for individualized, small-group, and large-group instruction throughout the school year. Age and developmentally-appropriate, grade-specific scope and sequence curriculum centered on state and national standards guide and tailor teaching and learning experiences in each classroom.

We use Teaching For Transformation framework for our curriculum. Teaching for Transformation is a curriculum framework that allows both teachers and students to engage in community with Christ at the focus. This framework helps students see their places in God’s story in every part of life and every subject in school. Teachers work to help students develop habits and characteristics that we see as consistent with the Biblical story and teachers design learning experiences where students are pushed to do real work in our community. Students also engage in Navajo language and culture, physical education, and regular assessments to support growth and success.

Fine arts are an important part of life at RCES. Students participate in music twice weekly, developing rhythm, pitch, and vocal skills, and some classes perform in annual Christmas or spring programs. Weekly visual arts classes allow students to explore a variety of mediums, showcase their work, and participate in initiatives like the Global Art Exchange. These experiences encourage creativity, collaboration, and expression while celebrating each student’s God-given gifts.
