I grew up in Iowa in the town of Dubuque, where I went to Emmaus Bible College. There I earned a bachelor of science degree in elementary education. The journey that led me to Rehoboth Christian School in 2018 began when my wife and I moved to Sweetwater, Arizona in 2007. I taught and lived in Sweetwater from 2007-2018 at Immanuel Mission School as both the third and fourth-grade teacher and for eight years as the boy’s jr/sr high school basketball coach.
My first cultural experience on the Navajo Reservation came in my sophomore year of college and since then God has truly changed my life. There are many wonderful things that excite me about my job at Rehoboh. I just love how education has always given me direction and I like taking those experiences and passing them on as a teacher. Rehoboth values and demonstrates how important love is in educating the whole person. Here at Rehoboth, everyone is valued. There is also great leadership at Rehoboth that encourages this. My deep hope is that my students will follow the love and knowledge of the Lord to help build a stronger, more diverse and inclusive world.
