I came to Rehoboth Christian School in 2014 to take the 7th/8th social studies position. I am originally from Holland, MI, where I attended Holland Christian High School, graduating in 2009. I attended Calvin University (previously Calvin College) in Grand Rapids, MI and graduated in 2013 with a degree in Secondary Education Social Studies. My favorite thing about being a middle school teacher is developing relationships with my students. I enjoy history and the other classes that I teach too, but working alongside the students is the best part by far. One of the best things about working at Rehoboth is that it is so easy to focus on relationships. As teachers, we are given enough freedom to structure our classes and lesson plans how we want to, incorporating creativity and accessibility without getting overwhelmed by standardized tests, mandatory benchmarks, principal lesson plan reviews, and the like. Rehoboth, as a result, offers students an unmatched opportunity for creative, unique, and relational learning.
