My name is Elsa Doornbos. I am the lead teacher in the Early Pre-K classroom. I am from Grandville Michigan, but this will be my second year in New Mexico. I was a long-term volunteer for the pre k program last year and loved every minute of it. This will be my first year teaching at Rehoboth Christian School in the Early Childhood Center.
I attended and received my Associates's degree in applied sciences in Early Childhood Education from North Central Michigan College in 2016. I am currently attending and taking classes for my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education at New Mexico State University.
I absolutely love how the staff at Rehoboth Christian school feels like a family. I love that I know that If I have a problem, I can go to anyone on staff, and I can trust them to help me find a way to solve it. I also love that I can go to staff with prayer requests, and they will pray for me. I am excited to work with all of them this year.
I love walking into my classroom every morning and seeing the smiling faces of my students. I love knowing that I will be playing a part in their amazing life’s story. I can not wait to see the different personalities of all the students in my classroom this year.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy going on hikes in the mountains, exploring new places, painting, drawing, and singing. I also love to video chat with my family and friends.
