Memorial/In Honor Gifts

Kleinheksel, Kenneth After a life of service and love for his Jesus, Kenneth Dale Kleinheksel, age 80, now serves him face to face. On Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018 Ken went home to be with his Lord and Savior. He was the hands and feet of Jesus showing the love of Christ by using his gifts and skills to help others. He was an amazing husband to his beloved wife of 55 years "Micker", who preceded him in death in 2016. He was also preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Pam. He is survived by his children Carol and Jim Boverhof, John and Mary Kleinheksel, and David and Sarah Kleinheksel; grandchildren and great grandchildren Joel and Kaitlyn Boverhof and their daughter Claira; Brent and Brittany Boverhof and their children Amelia and Tucker; Sam and Ellen Boverhof and their daughter Ada; Chad Boverhof; Amanda Kleinheksel; John William Kleinheksel; Colleen and Kyle Walcott; and Drew Kleinheksel; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Mary Kleinheksel, Barb Kuiphof, Shirley and John Kooiker, and Nancy and Jim Engen; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, and neighbors. Ken was a charter member of Cascade Fellowship CRC, using his talents for the Lord in a variety of ways. Ken and Mick volunteered for 8 winters at Rehoboth Christian School doing whatever was asked of them and loving every minute of it! He touched many lives serving as a dedicated police officer with the Kent County Sherriff's department. A thanks to Faith Hospice, and Ken's very special nurse, Annie Baker, for the compassionate care given to Ken. A celebration of life service will be held at Cascade Fellowship CRC (6655 Cascade Rd. SE, GR 49546), on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 1:00 PM. The family will greet visitors at Zaagman Memorial Chapel (2800 Burton St. SE) on Monday, Nov. 26 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM; and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, from 12-1 PM at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Rehoboth Christian School.

Grassmid, Susanne Grand Rapids, MI --Susanne Grassmid, age 94, entered heaven with a "Hallelujah" to meet our Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 29, 2018. She is survived her son, Jud (Nancy) Grassmid; daughter Barb/Peachie (Mike) Lautenbach; son, Tom (Jan) Grassmid; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and by her second family, the Marv Huizingh family. She was preceded in death by her son Scott; husband Bob; granddaughter Jennifer; and special friend Marv. Funeral services will be on Tuesday Oct.2, 11 AM, at Covenant Christian Reformed Church (7171 Willard Ave. SE, GR 49548) with visitation one hour prior to the service on Tuesday from 9:30-11 AM. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be given to World Renew or Rehoboth Christian School.
