HELEN POSTHUMA - Helen Posthuma, 87, passed away Saturday evening, January 13, 2018 at Somerford Place, surrounded by her two sons an eldest grandsom. She was born December 14, 1930 to John and Marie King, in Grand Rapids, MI. Helen attended Calvin College and Wayne State University. In May 1952 she married Bill Posthuma. They were married for 63 years until Bill's passing in 2015. 

Helen was an avid and talented crafter. She donated her time and talents teaching fiber arts to Navajo and Zuni children in New Mexico. In lieu of flowers, Helen requests that donations be made in her and Bill's name to Rehoboth Christian School.

BOONSTRA, SIDNEY Sidney (Sippe) Boonstra, 76, of Jenison, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, January 11, 2018. Sid was born July 19, 1941, in Tzummarum, Friesland, the Netherlands to Pieter and Boukje Boonstra. He immigrated with his family to the U.S. in 1952. Later, he met Carol Meyer and they married August 20, 1965 at Grandville Ave. CRC. Sid and Carol raised their family and lived in the same Jenison home for 46 years, surrounded by many great friends and neighbors. After driving truck for 25 years, Sid pursued his passion and operated Boonstra Coin and Stamp in Holland. He was preceded in death by his in-laws: Kenneth and Joann Meyer, Robert Meyer, and Thomas Ranney. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Carol, their 2 children and 6 grandchildren: Michele and Brent Dykstra(Case, Kendall, Evan) of Grand Rapids, Brian and Deb Boonstra(Gabriel, Elijah, Haven) of Hudsonville; siblings: Janet(Jantje) and Henry Katerberg of Hamilton, Ontario, CA, Bert and Jane Boonstra of Wassenaar, the Netherlands, Dick and Lois Boonstra of Alberta, CA; in-laws: John and Lois Meyer of Byron Center, Carol Meyer of Northridge, California, Ann and Sam Beach of Gowen, MI. Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 pm, Tuesday, January 16, Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State, Zeeland. A service to honor and remember Sid Boonstra will be held at 11:00 amSaturday, January 20, at Georgetown Bible Church, 4114 Baldwin St., Hudsonville, MI 49426. Memorials to Rehoboth Christian School or Faith Hospice.
