Softball has been part of my family since I was born. My grandfather played baseball growing up and as I grew up, he played in the slow pitch tournaments that Gallup had once a year. My dad and my uncle also played baseball and are now in the age limit of the 50 and over softball tournament. I grew up watching my cousins and my sister playing baseball and softball and I knew that I would play it one day. At the age of seven I started playing softball the little league. I enjoyed playing first base and I thought that is where I would always play. When I got to the eighth grade, I was allowed to play for Rehoboth’s varsity softball team. My sister was a pitcher and we need another pitcher. I decided to try it and now I am the starting pitcher for the team. I love pitching because it is a special bond me and my sister have. Since my uncle is the coach and my dad is a volunteer, I feel it is an experience that the family can have together.
