Band

I started playing the flute my first year of Middle School. From the first time I found the keys and was able to make notes, I loved it. I was in band for 6 years of my life. I even transferred over to the Rehoboth Band. Every year I would try out at Solo and Ensemble. I achieved several medals from my performances. My Sophomore year I tried out for honor band and was accepted as the third chair flute!! I love the way a flute sounds, and maybe that’s why being a flautist came so easily to me. Unfortunately I was unable to join band my senior year because of scheduling difficulties. I have been practicing my flute whenever possible and plan to continue this hobby for quite sometime.

Choir

At Thoreau we did not have a singing group. Coming to Rehoboth I was blown away at how amazing the choral group was. I had never been exposed to such an awesome experience. Joining Choir, I came to find that I am quite good at reading music and finding pitches. I also realized that I love to sing. I hope that I can find somewhere in the future that can further my knowledge of singing.

"I have no pleasure in any man who despises music. It is no invention of ours: it is a gift of God. I place it next to theology. Satan hates music: he knows how it drives the evil spirit out of us." -Martin Luther
