My name is Nicole Kabah Johnny

I am a Navajo from Crystal, NM.

I was born in Phoenix, AZ.

I live with my grandmother. She is my mentor. She taught me about my culture, and who I am as a young Navajo woman. She gave me my middle name. Kabah means "Woman Warrior" in Navajo.

I love to take pictures of nature. From my pictures I want to capture the moment's beauty because nature is everchanging like the universe. With my pictures there is a story behind it, and I like to share those stories.

I attended Rehoboth for my four years of highschool. Here I grew in my faith and my academics. Rehoboth also gave me the opportunity to travel to new places and meet new people. I have been to Creel, Mexico. I have attended various academic programs, like Entrada and meet many new people.

Another thing is I love poetry, I love reading. I love life.

I love to travel and see new places, and meet quite a few new faces.

I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand --
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep -- while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?
--Edgar Allen Poe

Walk on a rainbow trail; walk on a trail of song, and all about you will be beauty. There is a way out of every dark mist, over a rainbow trail.
-- Navajo Proverb
