Mexico

My first year here at Rehoboth I was given the opportunity to go on a mission trip to Mexico. It was by far the best trip I have taken. It was my first year and going to a place I didn't know anything about with people I had only known for a few months was a big step outside my comfort zone. I was faced with different views of things. Before coming to Rehoboth I struggled with who I am and my faith. Going on this mission trip opened my eyes to new things but also to who God is. I was challenged to think about my faith and to leave the distractions on my life out. Distractions like TV, cell phones, computers, and iPods. Being in Mexico I grew in my faith with the help of those around me but also from the people in Mexico. They have a love for God that seems to be ten times stronger than those here in the U.S. Those in Mexico don't have distraction and have much less then we do here in the U.S. and their love is beyond measure. I also went on this same trip last year. It was just as much fun as the first but I was able to grow more in my faith with God and keeping that strength with God became difficult as I would return home because I would be distracted again. But as I think back to my experiences in Mexico I remember all that I went through and being able know that God will always be there gives me a strength I cannot get from anyone or anything else. I was able to have this experience here at Rehoboth and it was a blessing to me.
