my time at rehoboth

Coming to Rehoboth

For starters i came to know of rehoboth through my grandparents and aunts, and my dad. They all graduated from Rehoboth many moons ago.Actually i came to Rehoboth when i was just a little 7th gared sprout.I started my junior high educucation here.Immediatly i noticed the huge difference between my old school and rehoboth.i came from Chuska Community School located in Tohatchi.Upon my start at Rehoboth i felt that i could be mysalf here meaning i could talk about my beliefsin christbut at Chuska we were taught about traditional values and such.To talk about my faith there i was treated and sometimes asked strange questions.I remember in sixth grade my teacher brought up the Ten Commandments in class and she beagen to ask me all kinds of questions realated to my faith.I felt very excluded, but yet very victiumized. She asked me to reciet and explain each of the ten commandments.so i beagn to and upon completing her task. She metioned that i had forgot one being young i was afraid so i asked her which one and she hsaid it was the "Love thy Neighbor as thy self" Then she began to criticize my beliefssaying that i should know the ten commandments i stood there in front of 20 -25 classmates feeling very small and in a way ashambed of what i believed.I never mentioned it to my parents because i was afraid ofwhat they would do or say to my teachser at the time.

Freedom to Express myself at rehoboth

So by coming to rehoboth i felt that i no longer had to hide what i believed,i loved going to Chapels and i still like the Chapels.being at Rehoboth i have of coursed learned the cousrses of math, english, science, biology, chemistry, and also christian doctrine.Chrsiatian Doctrine,Bible,Worldviews, and Christian life are coursesthat are not even taught at other schools in the area. Those classes have taught me alot about my relationship with God.

Sports at Rehoboth:

I joined the cross country team in seventh grade and it was different running for rehoboth in a sense of the work outs and the devotionals we had after practices it changed my perspective on sports.I ran previously at my old school and i grew to love running it was a hobby that i really enjoyed. One the of the things that i mentioned is the devotionals and praying before and after each meet was very new especially for a sport typ of event. It was something that i admired of the sports teams at Rehoboth beacuse it demonstrated our faith in him to protect and help the athletes to perform without injury. To this day i still admire that of all Rehoboth athletes no matter what position ,how good the athlete is they still give thanks to the Lord after each game, match and meet whetther we are the winning or losing team.In the way of yes you may be a great athlete ,but to know that hopefully when people see you play or participate in a sport that they see a reflection of Christ. So being in sports i have always tried to keep that in mind ad i also try to display good sportsmanship. Also to just glorify God through the talents he has given me.

Especially when joining soccer my sophomore year i was frustrated at first because it was my first year and i had to adjust, but being on the team i learned how to trust my teammates.I immediatly felt welcomed by the other girls who not only helped me improve in the sport but taught and displayed good leadership skills.my first year i played our German exchange student played also i learned so much from Maria and i vividly remember that she would yell " God Loves You" in the midst of a game whether we would be winning or losing  she was a very positive girl and she was so fun to be around.Maria has had such an impact on me especially that season she taught me that no matter how good or bad you play just do it to have fun and most Importantly do it to Glorify God.I loved to play soccer it grew to be a favorite past time for me.I can honestly say that im going to miss playing with the soccer girls next year.especially at our home turf which i thank everyone who made it possiable for us to have our own field. It was truely a blessing.
