Jim Holwerda has been in the field of education for the last 35+ years. He graduated from Hope College in Holland, MI in 1978 with degrees in Special Education and Elementary Education. He graduated with a Master's degree in Elementary Education from Western Michigan University in 1986. After teaching in upper elementary and middle school settings, he has taken on the role of principal in grades PreK – 5th grades. Jim has been at Rehoboth since 1998 and taught in Grand Rapids, MI for the previous 14 years.
Jim counts it a real blessing to serve in a multicultural setting and to have an impact as a teacher and principal to the students and families that Rehoboth serves. He is active in his church, serving in various roles over the years. Jim loves outdoor activities including hiking, biking, and traveling. He values time with family and friends.
