NEW STUDENT ADMISSION PROCESS

Admission to Rehoboth Christian School is based on submission of all application forms, completion of testing and an interview with the principal of the school the student is applying for.  Only under special circumstances do we admit students going into the 12th grade. The application process includes the following steps:

Forms

  • Complete all the Application for Admissions Forms and submit with a non-refundable fee of $25.00 per student. The Spiritual Life Form is to be completed by parents or guardians and the Student Questionnaire is to be completed by students going into grades 6 – 11.
  • The Pastor’s Recommendation Form is to be completed and submitted by the pastor of your church. (If you do not have a pastor or if you are not a member or regular visitor of a church, please contact the Director of Admissions.)
  • A copy of the applicant’s latest report card must be submitted with the application forms.  If you can provide a transcript and standardized test scores from the previous school year, please do so.  For children who have been home-schooled, please submit recent test scores.
  • For families wishing to be considered for financial aid, please fill out the Financial Aid Form and submit by June 2, 2006.  Be sure to include a copy of your completed 1040 tax form.

Testing

  • Select the grade level testing date for your child unless recent standardized test scores are submitted.  If standardized test scores are questionable, the student will be tested as well.
2009 Test Dates:
Saturday, April 25, 2009
Testing Times:
Grades  1 – 5,  8:00 am – 12:30 pm (Elementary School building)
Grades  6 – 8,   9:00 am (Middle School building)
Grades  9 – 11, 9:00 am (High School building)
  • All students entering Kindergarten will be interviewed and tested by the Kindergarten teacher.  Dates and times will be scheduled once all the application forms are in.

Interview

  • All applicants are required to complete a personal interview with the principal of the school they are applying for. Please call the Admissions Office (505-726-9692) to schedule an interview.  If possible, both parents or guardians should be present and students going into grades 6 – 11 should be present as well.

Decision

  • Once the Application Forms are in and testing and interviews have taken place, applications will be reviewed by the Education Committee for approval for admission. Parents or guardians will be notified by letter once a decision has been made.
  • If a class is full, students will be placed in a waiting pool and parents will be notified if an opening becomes available.  Occasionally students may be added at the beginning of second semester if there is an opening.
  • Once a student is admitted to Rehoboth Christian School, parents or guardians must fill out and return the Registration Forms to complete the enrollment process.  A student’s spot will not be secure until all the Registration Forms have been received by the Registrar.

Time Table

  • The Education Committee meets monthly and reviews applications from May through August.
  • We encourage you to apply early as some classes fill up quickly.

The Admissions Director is eager to help you with the application process.  Please do not hesitate to contact her for assistance as you work through the various forms.
