Weather –Related Closings:

There will be times when RehobothChristianSchool has a delayed start or is closed for the day due to weather conditions.  In general, Rehoboth will make the decision to delay or start based on whatever Gallup Public Schools decides.  However, the actual decision is made by the Assistant Superintendent after consulting with the Director of Transportation.

The best way to find out the status of school for the day is to call the school’s DELAY/CANCELLATION number (505) 726-9642 or on the front page of the website, www.rcsnm.org .  Information on delays or closings will be posted by
6:00 a.m.  You may also determine the status of school for the day by watching or visiting the websites of television channels 4, 7, or 13.  In addition, the status will be announced on AM radio station KGAK in Gallup and most of the local FM stations.

On days when school is delayed, there is no breakfast served. If school is cancelled, usually so are all of the activities that would have taken place after school that day.

Early Dismissal/Cancellation of the After School Program:

  1. Decision to release early from school will be rare, due to the hardships this causes on families with young children & the possibility of children heading to an empty house.
  2. If early dismissal occurs, announcements will be in all the same places as a snow delay: TV/Radio, on the phone line (726-9642), and the front page of the website.
  3. For all families whose oldest child is in 6th grade or younger, RCS will call the family to inform them of the early dismissal. K-6 students with siblings in grades 7-12 will be dismissed in the care of their older sibling. Older children (grades 7-12) will be asked if they would like to call their parents or not.
  4. If school is released early or the ASP is canceled, so are the other activities that would have taken place after school that day.
