Grades 6-12 News
Wednesdays are being transformed into days for service opportunities. We want to give students the opportunity to bless the  school community and/or the broader community through their acts of compassion.  Students will be able to choose from some of the following:  tutoring, visiting the elderly, encouraging environmental stewardship, creating trails and garden space, organizing activities for the afterschool program….Homework tends to be less on Wednesdays for both the middle school and the high school  in part because of the High School block day. Many students are also looking  for service hours as part of requirements for various classes. Students may use these hours towards those class requirements if they wish.

ASP visits National Christmas Tree

November 28, 2011
By Rehoboth

Church Rock  and Rehoboth  After School Students in Grades K, 1 and 2 climbed on a bus on  Wednesday, November 16  to see the “People’s Tree” , a 65 foot Christmas tree that was on a 4,500 mile journey from California to Washington DC.  The tree will be at the base of the Capitol building in Washington DC .  The tree will be decorated with 10,000 lights and 3,000 Christmas ornaments.  Students signed the banners on the truck that carried the tree. Children used a map of the United States to trace the route the tree will follow to the capitol.  After drawing a line  from California  through Arizona,  New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Indiana, North  Carolina   and  Virginia , a student asked, “Is it going to go through  Iyanbito too?”  We assured him that the tree did go past Iyanbito as it  traveled west in I-40 from Gallup. The after school staff wishes you all a wonderful Christmas!
